ABCTE Certification
The American Board’s breakthrough approach offers a new route to initial teacher certification for individuals with the desire and enthusiasm to teach. ABCTE is also developing a Distinguished Teacher certification to recognize teachers who consistently and positively affect their students’ achievement.
ABCTE certification involves a detailed self-assessment in each certification area, the help of an experienced Learning Plan Advisor, access to a variety of preparation materials including online refresher courses, practice tests and our online Prepare to Teach Workshops, and a set of rigorous examinations.

Visit the ABCTE Exam Preparation Center to learn about the full suite of preparation resources designed specifically for the American Board certification exams. These resources are the only materials that align specifically to the standards of the ABCTE certification exams and will be the most helpful as you prepare for certification.
